Welcome back stinkers! San Diego Comic Con is right around the corner. With that comes panels, announcements, and so much more. With Marvel returning to Hall H this year they’re going to be making some announcements. Just before hand though, there has been some Marvel SDCC 2024 Leaks. I’m going to tell you right now, none of this has been confirmed. This is all just leaks, so I’m telling you take everything I say with a grain of salt.
The Fantastic Four Cast on Stage
Fantastic Four is just about to start filming in the U.K. for a 2025 release. This movie certainly has my attention, because they have a great cast. Well according to this scooper, they’re going to bring out the full cast during the presentation. I buy that. It’s the fourth upcoming Marvel movie, and they’re going to want to start to build some hype around it. I would expect the main four, Pedro Pascal (Reed Richards), Vanessa Kirby (Sue Storm), Joseph Quinn (Johnny Storm), and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Ben Grimm) to show up. Following that, I think they’re going to bring out Ralph Ineson (Galactus) and Julia Garner (Shalla-Bal). Then I think they’re going to announce who Paul Walter Hauser, John Malkovich, and Natasha Lyonne is going play. If it isn’t one of the three, then I think they’re also going to announce who’s voicing H.E.R.B.I.E.
Shang Chi 2 Announcement
Now I’m really going to look forward to this one. Apart of the Marvel SDCC 2024 Leaks, it is said that they’re going to announce a sequel to Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. I think it’s about time! Shang Chi was a great film, with an amazing story and action scenes. We already know that the director, Destin Daniel Cretton is going to come back, I think that Marvel is finally going to make it official. The star himself, Simu Liu has talked about coming back as well. Regarding the post credit scene of Ten Rings, I think that this could also be a movie that leads into Avengers. I think that this one is almost a given.
Blade and Midnight Suns Announcement
The scooper then goes on to say that they’re going announce that Blade will be delayed to 2026 and that Marvel is going to announce a Midnight Suns film. Now I do think Blade is going to be delayed for 2026. However, I don’t think they’re going to want to take the time to announce a negative thing. I don’t think a Midnight Suns film is likely, but I do think that it could be paired up with Blade. I think that they’re going to announce that Blade will be delayed to 2026, but then to try to make it up to some people, they could follow it with a Midnight Suns announcement. The problem is that if they can’t get a Blade film off the ground, it’s going to be difficult to get a Midnight Suns movie as well.
Would I be hyped? Yes! Do I think it’s going to happen? No. If a Midnight Suns film is in the realm of possibility, what might they talk about? If this is true, I think they’re going to give a rough release date, like 2027-2028. I think they would end there. So, will quick, I want to speculate on what the lineup might look like. I think we’re going to see Moon Knight return, along with Doctor Strange, Wong, and Blade. Now if they really wanted to surprise us, they could do a reverse Avengers movie. They could surprise us with an earlier release date, and kind of break it down into separate projects.
Thor 5 Announcement
Now something that I would be excited to see is Thor 5. Thor: Ragnarok was a great movie, and there is no doubt that Thor: Love and Thunder was a down grade. If they were to come out on stage and announce a Thor 5 title, and director, it would be a situation where they would need to play their cards right. Get someone that will get the people excited. My hopes would be that they redeem the character. The Thor franchise hasn’t exactly been the best.
A direction I can see them going is a version of Logan. Logan was a beautiful film, that aged Wolverine up a couple years, and he’s a broken man. I’m not saying Thor 5 needs to go the mature route, but I think that it needs to go serious and make Thor a character that we can care about. This is a leak that I buy.
First Thunderbolts Trailer
Now I’m not going to lie. I’m getting excited for Thunderbolts. It has a great cast of characters and actors, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. I’m going to bet that there’s more characters that we don’t know about yet. Now for the most part, Thunderbolts is done filming. They still have some scenes to film, but people like David Harbour (Red Guardian) have wrapped. Now I think this is true. However, they’re going to be showing this behind closed doors. I already thought that they released the Captain America: Brave New World trailer too early, let alone Thunderbolts. So, I think that this is going to be shown behind closed doors, and we’re just going to have to hear about it afterwards.
Doctor Strange 3 Announcement
Now the next announcement that I’m also excited for is Doctor Strange 3! I also by this scoop, simply because of where we left off in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. I think Doctor Strange 3 would be a very important film in the Multiverse Saga. If you remember at the end of Multiverse of Madness, Doctor Strange has caused an incursion and he’s off with Clea to fix it. I think that we would pick up right after that, and the rest of the movie we will see Doctor Strange deal with the implications that the Multiverse has caused. That could then easily fit into Avengers 5 and Secret Wars. I think that Kevin Feige is going to put this along with his updated slate, with a title and a rough release date.
The Young Avengers Announcement
Now the Young Avengers, I am more skeptical of. Yeah, I know they were setting it up in The Marvels and such. I just simply think they can’t do much with a Young Avengers. By the time they finish setting up the different members like Ms. Marvel, and Kate Bishop, they’re just going to be too old. They would have to really surprise us and say that it’s going to release next year or in 2026. I think a tv show might be a better direction for the Young Avengers to go.
So, I think that they are not going to announce a Young Avengers at SDCC. The best-case scenario would be that they wait for D23, and they announce that it’s going to be a TV show. Or another option could be a Disney Plus special. Last time I checked, though, Marvel was going to drop the Special Presentation banner.\
Black Panther 3 Announcement
Now I’m more skeptical about Black Panther 3. Don’t get me wrong, I would be down for a new Black Panther movie. I really like the first two. It also helps that the Marvel SDCC 2024 Leaks mentioned that the director Ryan Coogler is going to come back. I just simply don’t know where they’re going to go. If you remember, at the end of Wakanda Forever, it is revealed that T’Challa had a secret child, T’Challa Jr. If anything, I think that they’re going to age him up, and this Black Panther could lead into this supposed Young Avengers project.
Marvel’s First Animated Feature
It wasn’t that long ago when the great X-Men ’97 debuted, and with that, it introduced a new Marvel Studios banner, Marvel Animation. I however don’t think that the created Marvel Animation just for tv shows. So, I am going to buy this animated movie announcement. I am very curious on what this movie could be about. If it’s going to be Marvel’s first animated film, I would expect it to be family friendly. Something like the Spider-Verse films. I think we are going to get a title, concept art, and a rough release date.
Scarlet Witch Movie Announcement
This is another movie that I’m rather skeptical of. According to the Marvel SDCC 2024 Leaks, we are going to get a Scarlet Witch film for 2028. At the end of Multiverse of Madness, we see a building collapse on top of her, as we see a red-light spark under the rubble. That leads me to think that the Wanda we know is dead, but not The Scarlet Witch. Yes, I think a Scarlet Witch movie could be really cool, but I still don’t think they’re going to do it. With just how powerful Wanda is, I just don’t know how they can tell a great story.
I’m sure Marvel can figure out a way to do it, but I just think Wanda’s a story that worked better as a subplot in Multiverse of Madness. Again, I think that Marvel can make a great Scarlet Witch movie, at this state, I just don’t think they’re going to do it.
X-Men Movie Announcement and Lineup
Now this next rumor is one that I am not buying at all! According to the Marvel SDCC 2024 Leaks, we are going to get an official X-Men movie announcement, and a line up. Yes, I think that this movie is still going to happen, but I think it is simply just too soon. The X-Men movie has barely started the writing process, and it isn’t going to release for a very long time. I’m expecting that the X-Men movie is going to release in the next saga, after Secret Wars. That’s when they can focus on the Mutants like what other rumors have been stating. I just think if you put the mutants in the middle of the Multiverse Saga, it’ll just get to convoluted. I mean the Multiverse Saga is already over the place!
Avengers 5 and Secret Wars Writer and Director Announcement
So, when Marvel last appeared at SDCC Hall H, they blew everyone’s expectations away! They made a butt load of announcements, with one of them being Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars. As of now, The Kang Dynasty is titled Avengers 5. Yes, it is rumored that Marvel Studios will keep Kang in the MCU, but they’re also going to step back for a moment. We are expecting a Kang recast, but don’t get your hopes up because in the report, it was stated that there will be no mention of Kang. However, they did say that they’re going to announce the writer and director of Avengers 5, and the director for Secret Wars. Now I buy the Avengers 5 announcement, but not Secret Wars.
It was just the other day that they announced that Loki writer, Michael Waldron, is leaving Avengers 5. My theory is that Waldron really left a while ago, and they’re just now announcing it. I think that they are then going to show up at SDCC and announce a new writer and director when they least expect it. The only reason why I don’t think they’ll announce the one for Secret Wars is because it is simply just too far away. However, there is a strong chance that whoever is working on Avengers 5, will work on Avengers: Secret Wars.
Alongside the director and writer, the report says that they’re going to announce a title for Avengers 5. I also buy that as well. If they get a writer and a director that’ll get people excited, I think they’re going to want to carry on that hype by announcing a new title for the film.
The Return of Deadpool & Wolverine
Now this one has me the absolute most excited! I sadly just don’t think that it’s going to happen. It has already been confirmed that Marvel will host a separate panel at Hall H, which is on the day of Deadpool & Wolverine’s release. In fact, the panel is going to be focused on the movie! The panel includes Kevin Feige, Shawn Levy, Ryan Reynolds, and Hugh Jackman. The Marvel SDCC 2024 Leaks are saying that during the big Marvel presentation, they are going to bring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman on stage and announce their return in Avengers. Now, I’m sure all of the nerds that participate in Hall H are going to see the movie some time before Hall H. Depending on where the movie ends, then they might want to ride that hype by announcing their return.
Would I be excited? YES! That would be the most exciting announcements at the presentation. I just wouldn’t get your hopes up, because I’m not buying it. The movie would literally just have come out, and I think they would want to give it time for more people to see it. I mean they could also announce their return, and that could just get more people to go and see it. Another problem is that as of now, they don’t have a writer. I think they’re going to announce it at Comic Con, but that is all. I doubt that they have a full script to the point to where it’s official that the two are coming back. So, I’m kind of 50/50 on this.
Marvel SDCC 2024 Leaks Recap
That is going to do it for the leaks and my predictions on the Marvel SDCC 2024 Leaks. I think about half of these are going to happen, and the other half not. I think they’re going to bring The Fantastic Four cast on stage, announce Shang Chi 2, Blade delay, Thor 5, Doctor Strange 3, an animated feature, Avengers writer and director, show Thunderbolts footage, and I have high hope that they bring out Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds.
Marvel SDCC 2024 Leak Wrap Up
