Welcome back stinkers! Just the other day we had the debut of Agatha All Along Ep 1-2! So, today I will be giving you my thoughts on both episodes, and some theories that I’ve come up with afterwards. I will warn you, at first I’ll give you a quick non-spoiler reaction, and then shortly get into full spoilers.
Agatha All Along Ep 1-2: Non-Spoiler Reaction
Now, I thought this was a great start to the show! That being said, that’s been a common pattern with Disney+ shows. They have great starts, but a lot of them aren’t able to stick the landing. That’s just something that should be noted. Another thing that you should note is that the show runner of WandaVision is back for Agatha. Of course, WandaVision is one of the best Marvel shows.
Seekest Thou the Road Reaction
Now, for episode 1. I actually enjoyed it! This episode is a bit of an epilogue almost for WandaVIsion. Which isn’t bad, but it also doesn’t make it as strong. However, I think I could let it slide. Just based off the trailer and promotional material, you would expect this show to separate itself from WandaVision, which I’m sure it still will. However, this episode does take the same format that WandaVision does, and it’s Agatha living in a True Crime TV show. So, the reason why I could let that pass is because it could ease other audience members into the show with the familiar. So, as a part of a series I don’t know how well this episode would hold up, but for a bridge between WandaVision and Agatha All Along, I enjoyed it. I had lots of fun with it.
Circle Sewn with Fate Unlock Thy Hidden Gate Reaction
Moving on to the next episode, Circle Sewn with Fate Unlock Thy Hidden Gate. Now, I have to say, at first the episode was a little underwhelming, but when the second part kicks into action, it was great! The highlight of this episode for me had to be the Salem Seven. They were very creepy, and actually quite scary. We also get more of a glimpse of the chemistry between all the characters, and from what I could tell, it looks great. I will say, the underwhelming part for me was when they were assembling the coven. I mean they didn’t do anything wrong. It also just wasn’t super exciting for me. I however was excited when we can catch a glimpse of what this series could uphold.
Rio Vidal
Now who’s probably my favorite character of the show so far has been Aubrey Plaza’s character. Now we don’t exactly learn a whole lot about the character, due to the only episode we see her in being in the True Crime hex. However, we are able to see the chemistry between Kathryn Hahn and Aubrey Plaza. So far, that chemistry is great!
Now it’s time for some theories. I will warn you now, I will be talking about spoilers from now on. So, in the first episode, there’s this tension between them that makes them seem like ex-lovers. So, if that’s the case, what could her true intentions be? Cause I don’t think she would work with Agatha on her own because she actually wants to. This is pure speculation, but maybe she could be working for someone. Maybe she made a deal with a certain demon, Mephisto?? I could go even further, and maybe she made that deal with Mephisto to possibly revive The Scarlet Witch. Again, that is just pure speculation. If you also introduce Mephisto here, it could be a good way to connect and flow into Iron Heart, which comes out next year.
Teen
Now another character that fans have been talking about is Teen. Now the thing that everyone is saying is that he is Wanda’s son, Billy. Everyone can at least agree that whoever Teen is, it’ll be a surprise. They’re clearly trying to hide his identity. Now I don’t think Billy is out of the question, but I don’t think it’s Billy. I think that Marvel is trying to make it obvious that it’s Billy, just so they can fake us out. I don’t really know who Teen could be, I just don’t think it’s Billy.
Now if it does end up being Billy, they would need to figure out a way to explain how it’s Billy. If they do go down the Billy route (I don’t think they will), then I’m sure they could tie it into the multiverse side of things. Maybe somehow Billy from a universe where he actually existed, somehow made his way into this universe.
I also wanted to mention what was probably my favorite joke of the show so far was when Agatha passes by the lot of Wanda’s house and simply just spits on the lot.
