Welcome back stinkers! Marvel Television has recently put out a first Agatha All Along Teaser. Today I will be giving you might thoughts on the recent trailer paired with my own breakdown. Real quick, I wanted to mention that San Diego Comic Con is on the horizon. With Marvel returning to Hall H, they’re bound to talk about Agatha, Deadpool, Daredevil, Captain America, Fantastic Four, and so much more. It’s about to be a good time to be a Marvel fan.

Agatha All Along Teaser Thoughts

Now I knew this show was coming up, but it has been kind of on the back of my mind. I will say, it was kind of clever of them to do all of that name changing beforehand. Yes, it was weird and out of pocket, but Marvel was able to keep the pot stirring long enough so people wouldn’t forget about Agatha. Now that the first trailer has finally arrived, I’ve got to say. I am starting to get excited for this. It reminds me of WandaVision, but it’s scary. I got a bit of a sense of horror throughout the trailer. Matt Shakman is actually connected to the project. So, I think that this definitely has a chance at being good. Again, the trailer had the charm of WandaVision, but its own thing, with a side of horror.

Agatha in Westview

We catch back up with Agatha in Westview, but this time she’s working in law enforcement. Remember, in the finale of WandaVision, The Scarlet Witch put a spell back on Agatha, where she believes she is a citizen of the town, Westview. Now if you don’t know the town of Westview, it is a make-believe town, created by Wanda Maximoff herself. It was really created as an escape for her, but now that she’s dead, the hex can start to be teared down. As Kathryn Hahn approaches the dead body, the corpse is classified as Jane Doe. If you didn’t know, Jane and John Doe are names used across the U.S. and the U.K. and they are given to unidentified bodies without a name. This basically goes to show the sort of fake reality that Agatha is living in.

Wanda’s Dead Body

As detective Agatha approaches the body of Jane Doe, the name appears and it’s Wanda Maximoff. Now I have a few guesses on what this body could be. The last time we saw The Scarlet Witch was in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. As the building collapsed on top of her, Kevin Fiege pointed out that you can see a red glow as the building collapses. So, I don’t think The Scarlet Witch is exactly dead. I think that Wanda Maximoff is dead. As we see in the beginning of the trailer, we see that Agatha is still in Wanda’s hex. I think that this dead body is some sort of projection that Wanda put into the hex.

I think that it could either be a natural projection, or Wanda put it in herself. The more natural projection could just be that the Wanda we know is dead, but The Scarlett Witch is still alive. If this does end up being a projection, I think there’s a chance that Wanda could’ve put this in the hex, as an excuse to leave it. That would actually make sense, because she wouldn’t stay if Vision in her kids weren’t there. Now it really depends on when this show takes place, but the reason why she could’ve left is to go get variants of her kids to call her own.

Rio Vadal

Agath All Along Trailer Delivers an Unexpected Fan Reactions in the Wake of Recent Marvel Failures

We are then introduced to Rio Vidal played by Aubrey Plaza. Now Rio Vidal is an original character made for the show, but she is supposedly based off the Emeral Warlock, Dian from Marvel comics. Of course, in the show’s case, Dian would be gender swapped. Now, before you get mad, again, Rio Vidal is an original made character. She could just be loosely based off of Dian. Later in the trailer we see Vidal sporting a green aesthetic, hinting at the use of green magic. It is also rumored that Vidal could be a past or current love interest for Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha.

“That witch is gone, leaving you trapped in her distorted spell. Claw your way out.” Agatha then goes through her different stages of sitcom and claws her way out. Now, I view this as sort of spell breaker if that makes sense. I don’t know what really got Agatha to claw her way out. Another thing you should notice is that she says, “That witch is gone”. Referring to The Scarlet Witch, she doesn’t say that she’s dead or anything like that. So, circling back to the Wanda Maximoff projection theory, that kind of goes to show that the witch really isn’t gone. I believe that The Scarlet Witch we saw get crushed in The Multiverse of Madness is somewhere out there, and this body is just sort of the in-hex Wanda that’s dead.

Agatha All Along Supporting Cast

Agatha All Along' Trailer & Photos: Kathryn Hahn Returns As Agatha Harkness

Now the next thing I wanted to get into was Agatha’s supporting cast. Returning from WandaVision we have Debra Jo Rupp as Sharon Davis, Emma Caulfield Ford as Sarah Proctor, Patti LuPone as Lilia Calderu, Sasheer Zamata as Jennifer Kale, and introducing Joe Locke. Locke is believed to be playing Wiccan. I don’t exactly know how that’s possible because Wiccan is actually Wanda’s kid, Billy Maximoff. If you don’t remember as Wanda got rid of the hex, she got rid of her kids with it. This group of people will be joining Agatha on the Witch’s road, but other characters that were featured in WandaVision will make an appearance in this show.

The Witch’s Road

Now throughout the show, Agatha and her crew will be making their way through the Witch’s Road. It’s looking like Agatha All Along is going to be making more of a Wizard of Oz approach. It appears that each section of the road leads up to a house. Throughout the trailer we see different hues and colors like yellow, red, and green. I think that each correlate to their own episode and will be a main goal per episode for the main crew. I think that this format might be crucial to the show’s release. A problem the Disney Plus shows have been having is that they start out strong but could never get many viewers hooked on the story. With Agatha going on a new part of the road each episode, with the same crucial goal in mind, I think it could hook viewers in.

The Salem Seven

Now I’m very interested in where they go with this group. In the trailer we get a shot of The Salem Seven in the same neighborhood we see in WandaVision. If you remember in WandaVision, Agatha was put on trial by the Salem Seven, and she would go on to defeat them all. Well, they’ve come back this time and they might be even stronger. Here are the actresses that are performing them and the animals they represent. Okwui Okpokwasili takes the form of a cicada, Bethany Curry becomes a crow, Athena Perample as a fox, Marina Mazepa as a snake, Britta Grant becomes a rat, Chau Naumoya as a coyote, and Alicia Vela-Bailey becomes an owl. I believe that this group will be after Agatha for revenge after the Salem Witch Trials.
