Cinemacon has already kicked into action this week, but the big feature presentations don’t start until tomorrow. Today I will like to give you my predictions on what each studio will announce on their respective dates. The schedule consists of Universal presenting The Fall Guy today, then on Tuesday will be a presentation by Crunchyroll, and Sony (Sony isn’t doing a full presentation). Tuesday is also the day Warner Bros Discovery has a full scale presentation. Wednesday has multiple presentations with Angel Studios in the morning, Lionsgate, and the day closes with a presentation by Universal Pictures, and Focus Features. Wednesday night will also house a screening of the comedy Babes. What’s probably the most highly anticipated day (Thursday) will feature presentations by Paramount, and later Disney.

Warner Bros Pictures

We have already gotten the confirmation that the first trailer for Joker Folie à Deux that will not only premier at CinemaCon, but also to the public. The Joker sequel will follow back up with Joaquin Phoenix as the Joker, and it will introduce his infamous love interest Harley Quinn (Lady Gaga). Details have also said that the movie will be a jukebox musical, that will feature fifteen cover songs. That being said, there is still a chance that the film will feature original titles. Another upcoming movie this year is the legacy sequel Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. We have recently gotten a teaser trailer, teasing the return of Michael Keaton. It also hasn’t been all that long since we’ve gotten the original teaser, so my guess is that they will feature an exclusive full trailer, or an exclusive 20-30 minutes of content. You also have Furiosa: A Mad Max saga coming relatively soon. I don’t think it’s at a point to where they would show a surprise screening of the film, but I would not be surprised if there was footage shown. They also have a movie coming out this year that has really gone under people’s radars, Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim. I think this could almost be a focus of the presentation. There has been little to no promotion even information of the film. CinemaCon would be a great time to start ramping up the film, and I think they’ll show a first trailer, premiering at CinemaCon, and I would only hope to the public as well.

Lionsgate

Peacock and Lionsgate Close Multiyear Output Agreement for Lionsgate Theatrical Films

Lionsgate has potential to release some amazing news. A movie that I cannot wait for is The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare! I would only hope that they would host a surprise screening of the movie. They also have the movie adaption of the game, Borderlands. With how popular Video Game movie adaptations have been recently, I wouldn’t be surprised if they wanted to start a bigger push on the promotional side. This would be a good one to release a new trailer for, or even show footage, this could be a movie where it would be great if they brought in the cast. One movie that I don’t really think they would show at CinemaCon, but it is still in the realm of possibly is The Crow. We got the trailer not that long ago, the least they could do is maybe show a bit of footage. Two horror movies that release this year is The Strangers: Chapter 1 and Saw 11. The Strangers reboot is highly anticipated, and Saw 11 was announced shortly after the critically and financially successful Saw X.

Universal Pictures

Another legacy sequel releasing this summer is Twisters. The film stars up and comer Glen Powell, and it is basically a modern retelling of the original 1996 movie. My guess is that they will release another trailer for the movie, if not I think it’s a movie where they will show a sum of footage, exclusive to CinemaCon. Following the success of Kung Fu Panda 4, Dreamworks is releasing an adaptation of The Wild Robot. We got the first look trailer not that long ago, but I think this could be a movie where they bring out the cast, and show an exclusive trailer, where they could show off some of their voice talent. Another animated movie this year is Despicable Me 4. This could be a movie where they premier another trailer, or even show some footage of the movie. Now my guess on what will be one of the biggest movies of the summer is the film adaptation of the musical Wicked. We haven’t gotten a real good luck at the main story yet, and I think CinemaCon could be a time to show it, whether it is exclusive or to the public.

Paramount Pictures

Paramount Pictures

What’s probably my most anticipated studio presentation this year, has to be Paramount. A movie soon to release is John Krasinski’s If. With how close the film is, I think they could show a huge chunk of footage from the movie, to really get the hype going for it. In the summer you also have the anticipated, A Quite Place: Day One. I think this is a movie they could release another trailer for, telling us more about the story. A movie to most likely make its entrance is Gladiator 2. Already today, there has been some promotional statues in Vegas, saying Gladiator 2 is coming soon. So, I think that Paramount will premiere the first teaser for Gladiator. Now the Knuckles TV show is set to release this month, and all the way in December, is the release of Sonic the Hedgehog 3. The movie will be the introduction to the hedgehog, Shadow. Who is currently rumored to be voiced by Christian Haydenson. How great of a casting that might be, it is still just a rumor, and it could always be someone else. This is a movie that I could see Paramount bring out the cast of the movie and reveal who is voicing Shadow. Maybe if we’re lucky, they could show an exclusive first look teaser. Another movie that I am excited for is the animated Transformers One. It is a prequel that takes us through the battle of CyberTron, and we’ll get to see how the friendship between Optimus Prime and Megatron turned into a rivalry. This would also be a movie where I wouldn’t be surprised if they brought out the cast.

Disney

Disney's 100th Anniversary – The Fillmore Central Falconer

The final presentation of the week is none other than the House of Mouse. This summer follows the release of Inside Out 2. A movie that a lot of Pixar fans are excited for. Since they have already released both the teaser, and the full trailer, I think the next step is for them to show footage of the upcoming film. A surprise animated feature that was announced to release later this year is a sequel to the highly praised Moana. All that we have gotten was pictures, and a short teaser just to announce the film. I think they’re going to present a full trailer for the movie, both at CinemaCon, and online for the public. Another Disney feature that I think will release this year is Mufasa: The Lion King. We have recently gotten some first look images of the young Mufasa, and I think they could release a short teaser of the movie, either exclusively or online as well. A movie that I absolutely can’t wait for is the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine. I think that they won’t just release a new second trailer, but as Marvel’s only movie this year, I think they could also show a chunk of footage of the film. Oh, wouldn’t be great if they brought out Ryan Reynolds and the rest of the cast here? Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is a movie coming from 20th Century Studios relatively soon. I think that they could show another chunk of footage from the movie. I do think they should show the full thing, but with the amount of stuff Disney has to present, and the revealed runtime, I don’t think they would have time. Alien Romulus is another upcoming movie that has only gotten a short teaser. It hasn’t been all that long since the teaser originally released, so if they do talk about it, I think they’ll show a trailer exclusive to the convention.
