Welcome back stinkers! Deadpool & Wolverine’s marketing is now kicking into overdrive! Ryan Reynolds is truly a marketing genius, and we couldn’t have any of this without him. So, without further ado. I present to you my reaction, thoughts, and speculation on the marketing, and plans further to come.
Deadpool & Wolverine Popcorn Bucket Thoughts
Right before I started writing, Ryan Reynolds has finally revealed the Deadpool & Wolverine popcorn bucket. It is a true challenge for Dune: Part Two. I am a man that learns from my mistakes, and the minute that this bucket goes on sale, it’ll be the first place I go. If you’ve been living under a rock, the Dune popcorn bucket is of a simple sandworm. It then came off as suggestive and suspicious. Wade Wilson (Deadpool) has taken it upon him to design is very own bucket. It’s an amazing marketing move. It’s ONE of amazing marketing moves. Again, the second that this goes on sale I will be there.
Deadpool & Wolverine Tickets on Sale
Deadpool & Wolverine tickets are finally on sale! Well, if you want to view this on opening day, you might want to move fast. Depending on where you live of course. From the new glimpses we see, it is just a constant reminder of how this movie won’t be “Disneyfied”. I’ve already been cracking up at the jokes from the trailers, and I’m sure it’ll be even better in the actual movie. In my opinion, comedy is one of the most difficult trailers to craft. Teaser or trailer, they have to be able to convey a sense of emotion in a trailer. Whether it’s sadness, joy, anger, intrigue, or in this case laughter. Comedy depends on context. You can’t have a good joke without context. Safe to say Ryan Reynolds and the rest of the team have succeeded in all trailers. Every piece of new information like trailers, synopses, and other marketing features.
Official Deadpool & Wolverine Plot Synopsis
Speaking of the plot synopsis, I have got to mention it will quick. Keep in mind that this is from Disney themselves. “Marvel Studios presents their most significant mistake to date – Deadpool & Wolverine. A listless Wade Wilson toils away in civilian life. His days as the morally flexible mercenary, Deadpool, behind him. When his homeworld faces an existential threat, Wade must reluctantly suit-up again with an even more reluctantlier… reluctanter? Reluctantest? He must convince a reluctant Wolverine to – F-ck. Synopses are so f-cking stupid.” Now I love this synopsis. When I heard this in a video playing in the background as I worked, I immediately broke when I heard it. We are going to get a lot more of this in the time to come.
Deadpool & Wolverine Already Breaking Records
It’s been a little over a week now since tickets have gone on sale, but I’ve got to mention the first day records. Starting with AMC, the CEO has come out saying that this movie earned $8-$9 million alone in the first day. The movie doesn’t even come out in a little less than two months, and AMC alone already sold roughly 200,000 tickets! That is far more than any R-rated movie ever. In terms of first day presales. Fandago has also come out saying that the first day presales are the best of 2024 so far, as well as the best in the Deadpool franchise.
Safe to say this movie is making a billion. I do think that it isn’t going to reach 2 billion, or even 1.5 billion. The only reason is that this is still an R-rated movie, and it’s limiting a whole group of the audience, not allowing them to go. This movie could have a killer opening weekend, but it would have to be a great movie in order for it to reach a billion. This movie is really depending on word of mouth, rewatches, and this will definitely be a first R-rated movie for teenagers.
Wrapping Up
Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to catch up on some movie news! I just wanted to talk about some of the genius marketing behind this movie, getting excited for what’s to come. Since you’re done with this, I suggest you read up on the implications Deadpool might have on the new MCU X-Men movie. I’ve also done breakdowns on the first teaser, as well as the first official trailer. If you want to watch any videos online, then I have to suggest People Magazine’s Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman interview, it was truly beautiful. So, until next time stinkers! Bye bye.
