Welcome back stinkers! D23 has just recently wrapped up with their Disney Legends awards ceremony. So, congratulations to Harrison Ford, Angela Basset, John Williams, and everyone who was granted an award. So, today I’m giving you my last panel recap, for the Disney Experiences D23 (2024) presentation. Yes, the main focus was on the parks, but Fortnite snook its way in their as well. With this panel focusing on its parks and new attractions, this is a good time to add a new category to The Big Stinker network! This post marks the first for talking about parks and attractions.

The Mandalorian & Grogu’s New Adventure

D23 Expo: New Mandalorian & Grogu Mission Coming to Millennium Falcon - Wandering In Disney

So, the first ride that I want to get into was for the Mandalorian. No, this isn’t a brand-new ride, but it is a brand-new story. This new addition to Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run will feature none other than Mandalorian and Grogu. This new story will debut at Galaxy’s Edge in both Disneyland and at Walt Disney World. You can expect this to release around the same time as the upcoming Mandalorian & Grogu film, in May 2026.

Cars in Frontier Land

Cars Is Getting Two New Attractions at Disney World's Magic Kingdom That Aren't in Radiator Springs | D23 2024 - IGN

Before I get more into the stuff at Disneyland, I wanted to go through the Disneyworld announcements. In Magic Kingdom, we’re getting a new addition to the Magic Kingdom, with two new rides in Frontier Land. The two will focus on the Cars films. One of the rides will feature you riding around the mountains, with wild terrain, avoiding geysers, and driving through mud puddles. On top of this thrill ride, there’s going to be a rather family friendly attraction. The second attraction can be seen in the art above and seems to be more similar to the racetrack ride in Tomorrowland. Construction on both rides will begin in 2025.

Monsters Inc. Land

Monsters Inc. Land, Including Coaster, Coming to Disney World

Here’s something that has got me really excited. A new addition is coming to DIsney World: Hollywood Studios, and it can be found near Pixar land. You will so be able to roam the lands of Monstropolis! Parks guests are going to be able to visit the laugh factory, and ride Disney’s first ever suspended coaster. Shown in the art above, you will be able to fly though the door factory seen in the films. I absolutely can’t wait for this ride! Monsters Inc. in one of my favorite Pixar movies, and it will be an exciting time. We didn’t really get any other pieces of information; we do however know that it will start construction in 2025.

Indiana Jones Ride

Indiana Jones Adventure Coming to Disney's Animal Kingdom: New Details Unveiled

Another piece of exciting news we got had to be a new Indiana Jones ride. In the Animal Kingdom, DinoLand is being re-themed to the Tropical Americas. Apart of that new theme, the DINASOUR ride, will be replaced with a new Indiana Jones story. The new ride will use the same system as the DINASOUR attraction, so I would only assume that it won’t be to terribly long until we get it. However, it has a completion date of 2027, so I’m not sure.

Encanto

Disney Announces New Encanto-Themed Ride for Animal Kingdom

Apart of this Tropical Americas theming, there will be adding a new Encanto area. This will be the first major attraction based off the feature film. Disney guests are able to enter the magical Casita, and transport in Antonio’s room, which has been turned into a rainforest. This will also open up in 2027.

Stark Flight Lab

Stark Flight Lab, Fourth Avengers Campus Ride, Announced for Disney California Adventure - WDW News Today

Moving on to California Adventure, the news that y’all have been waiting for. Avengers Campus is getting an expansion, that will be double the size of the current park! Stark Flight Lab is an attraction that I’ve never seen before! As you get seated, you will be moved to attachable arms that will fly you around just like Tony’s first test flight. That’s not all. This is going to be a ride that you have to go on more than twice. Iron Man won’t be the only test launch, for there will be other heroes joining you as you fly just like them. That’s not all! Robert Downey Jr. was just announced as Doctor Doom, but that’s not all he’s returning for. RDJ will return as Tony Stark for both Stark Flight Lab, and the upcoming attraction Avengers: Infinity Defense!

Avengers: Infinity Defense

New Marvel Avengers: Infinity Defense Ride Announced for Disneyland

Now for what might be the most exciting piece of news to come out of the Disney Experiences D23 (2024) presentation, Avengers: Infinity Defense. Park guests are now finally able to put their Marvel training to good use, defending the multiverse. Guests are going to be able to team up with some of their favorite Marvel heroes, going through famous locations, fighting King Thanos. King Thanos is a Thanos variant that simply won, he was successful in snapping half the universe and was never killed by the Avengers. A big plot device that will be used throughout the ride is this portal technology, that will take you to places like Wakanda, Asgard, and New York, where you’ll come face to face with King Thanos. Avengers: Infinity Defense is set to begin construction extremely soon and could release as soon as 2026.

Disney and Pixar in Fortnite

Fortnite Is Getting Disney Villains And The Incredibles Later This Year

Moving on from the rides to gaming. The Disney Experiences D23 (2024) presentation shifted gears to Fortnite. They brought out core Disney heads, Jennifer Lee, Peter Doctor, Dave Filoni, and Kevin Fiege. Just a few months ago, they announced a Disney X Fortnite crossover, that will bring all of your favorite films and franchises into one game mode. Well, we aren’t getting that any time soon, but we have some skins to hold us up for the time being. We got the announcement that Pixar and Disney will get their first ever Fortnite skins. For Pixar, we’re getting three skins from the Incredibles. You have Mr. Incredible, Elastagirl, and Frozone. This won’t be the last Pixar collaboration, because there are plans for even more.

Moving on from Pixar, we got the announcement of three DIsney skins! Disney Villains is coming along with the Incredibles, and it will feature the likes of Cruella de Ville, Maleficent, and Captain Hook. These two collaborations are set to arrive in the item shop, this fall. What skins do you plan on buying?

Absolute Doom!

Fortnite's New "Absolute Doom" Marvel Battle Pass Revealed, With War Machine, Dr. Doom - GameSpot

Now for the big Fortnite news, it was the Disney Experiences D23 (2024) presentation that we got the debut for the trailer of Fortnite x Marvel: Absolute Doom. I won’t dive too much into the trailer for I plan to do a breakdown before the season comes out. I’ll just give you my quick thoughts. I am hyped! The original Marvel season (Chapter 2 Season 4) was peak Fortnite! Everything about this trailer has got me excited. The Battle Pass is great! The map is great! Even the weapons look great! We are about to get a lot of Marvel, and it doesn’t end here. There are leaks that the Fantastic Four are set to come out this season, and I’m sure we’re about get a lot more.
