Sgt. Rock Finds Director and Star

Welcome back stinkers! I’ve got a quick one for you, for the DCU is expanding! Yes, a Sgt. Rock finds director and even star. Today I will be getting into some of the implications of this, and my thoughts.

Sgt. Rocks Finds Director

So, according to The Hollywood Reporter, what seems to be a lock, is that Sgt. Rock finds director. Now I have not personally watched his work, but he seems to be an astounding choice. Many of Luca Guadagnino’s films has gotten award buzz. Just this year he put out Challengers and the upcoming film, Queer. The writer of Guadagnino’s Challengers and Queer is set to pen the script for Sgt. Rock. Now from the sounds of it, people have loved his movies. The one thing I took note of is that a lot of his movies are romantical dramas. That’s not something you would expect from a Sgt. Rock movie, but I’m sure he can maybe turn a new leaf and make a great adaptation.

We didn’t just get news on a director, but we got news on who the star could be! Daniel Craig ladies and gentlemen! Now I absolutely love Craig. He’s an amazing James Bond, and my favorite role of his has to be Benoit Blanc from Knives Out. Now like most people, I had to look up who the Sgt. Rock character is. Now I still don’t know a lot, but I think Daniel Craig could be amazing in the role. I’ll talk more about the character in a second. From what I could tell Sgt. Rock is a character that can grab almost anyone’s attention and inspire people. I think that Daniel Craig can pull that off. In Knives Out, he is able to grab my attention and hook me in beautifully.

Now I wanted to leave you with the basic information of the character. Before we get into that, I did want to mention that it already looks like we could see him in Creature Commandos. In the scene shown above, people have noticed someone that resemble a Sgt. Rock. I think that could be very cool; there’s just one thing that might contradict that. If Daniel Craig is currently circling the role, then what’s the deal with Creature Commandos’ Sgt. Rock? Something that James Gunn focused on in his original presentation is that whoever voices the character will move in and out live-action. I think Sgt. Rock would fall in that category of characters.

Now Sgt. Rock is a WW II soldier that essentially was a really good soldier. No superpowers or anything. So, he certainly would be an interesting character to see get adapted into the DCU.
