Welcome back stinkers! I am here to finally wrap up Star Wars’ Skeleton Crew Season 1, with a rather celebratory review. Make sure you like and subscribe for more videos and reviews like this. So, without further ado, let’s get into it.
The Kids

Starting off with the good. There sure is a lot of it. This is without a doubt one of the best things Star Wars has released in years! This show is absolutely wonderful, with well crafted characters. The four kids on their own were amazing. I love all four of them together and individually. One of the best things a movie or show can do is mix and match their character’s and each combination can bring something amazing to the table. I always like to go to shows like Parks and Rec for that. Anyways, you have Neel and Wim, Fern and KB, Neel and Fern, Wim and KB, KB and Neel, and Fern and Wim. These kids are wonderful!
Jod Na Nawood

What then really brought the show up for me was when you put Jude Law into that dynamic. Jod Na Nawood was such an amazing and complex character! He’s a perfect example of an extremely flawed character, that you tend to feel for. There’s times where I thought that this guy might actually have a soul. But then he does some totally cruel and evil things that change that.
I loved that dynamic that was built from episodes 3 and 4! It was such a sweet relationship that he built with these kids. Then that so obvious shift in character from the end of episode 5 and on, wrecked me! I got teary eyed in just about every episode past then. Jude Law is an absolute Star Wars treasure!
Indirect World Building

One last great thing I wanted to talk about is the indirect world building. Star Wars is this grand vast galaxy far far away, with so much to explore! But Star Wars has had this fixation on the same time period with the same characters. So, who knew we needed the suburbs to build Star Wars. We’ve gotten these big grand epics!
At a time like this, we needed to take it down a notch. This is a Star Wars we have never seen and the show was different and a breath of fresh air. And it ended up benefiting them in the end, because based off where things left off. It’s going to be so interesting to see how these characters deal with such great change. So, everything sets up season 2 quite nicely.
The Ending

Now for the not so good. I don’t have a whole lot of complaints about this show. In fact I only have two. First, the ending. Where is it?!? I don’t like how things just automatically end, cut and dry. The thing is two, I was really enjoying the last episode as a season finale. It felt like a great payoff for the adventure we went on. But by the end, I felt like there was something missing. It felt a little incomplete.
The Run Time

Now another complaint, is one that I have with just about most of Star Wars today. The episode lengths. Minus credits and opening intros this season would come out to around three hours. This show could’ve been a movie. Now I’m not saying it would’ve been better if it was a movie.
I think it was amazing as an episodic event. My point is that these runtimes tend to hurt shows. Some more than others. And I really think this show could have benefited from longer runtimes. Again, this show wasn’t affected to the degree of shows like Obi-Wan Kenobi. By the way, I enjoyed Obi-Wan. But there is no room to breathe.
