Welcome back stinkers! I have a quick one for you, but with some very exciting news! As you might’ve just seen, Spider-Man 4 finds director in Destin Daniel Cretton! Today we will be diving into what this means, and what the future of Spider-Man could hold.
Destin Daniel Cretton
So, if you aren’t aware, Destin Daniel Cretton was the director of Marvel’s Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Now I’d say Shang Chi was a decently successful film, critically and financially. The movie made a worldwide total of $432 million and has a 91% RT critic rating. I, among many, love the film. The action in that film was awesome, and it was overall just a great movie. Destin Daniel Cretton has a lot of style! Now he’s a busy guy! He is currently working on the sequel to Shang Chi, a Wonder Man series, and a live action Naruto adaptation. You also can’t forget that he was the original director attached to Avengers 5.
He has since then left Avengers, and that movie has obviously shifted directions. So, it is very obvious that Marvel loves the work he has done. Now Marvel and Sony are in development on a little film, Spider-Man 4. After the big success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, the two companies are going to want to make sure they find success in Spider-Man 4. Destin Daniel Cretton is definitely a great choice. It was a choice that I never could’ve thought of but could turn out awesome!
What Could This Mean for Spider-Man 4?
Now I think this could be an awesome choice for Spider-Man! I don’t understand why Jon Watts started to get so much hate for his Spider-Man movies, but those movies were great! The three of those had a great story! However, it is apparent (I personally don’t mind it), Watts’ Spider-Man movies didn’t have “sauce” compared to the other ones. That “sauce” that fans have been craving, is about to be delivered and more! I think Cretton is going to deliver a classic New York Spider-Man, on top of some beautiful fight choreography. I think Cretton is going to deliver on a great story. I wasn’t the most excited for Spider-Man 4 before. However, my excitement has now boosted through the roof!
Spider-Man 4 Finds Director Wrap Up
