Welcome back stinkers! I’m back again with more D23 coverage, this time with Star Wars and Marvel. Today I give you my Star Wars + Marvel D23 (2024) panel recap. If you haven’t yet, make sure you check out my previous post, the Pixar + Disney D23 (2024) Panel Recap. Ya’ll D23 has announced a lot! So, it’s going to take a couple days to get through absolutely everything. After this panel recap, stay tuned for a breakdown on the new Fortnite trailer and a couple of other updates. After that will be my panel recap for Marvel Animation. Then that will be followed with trailer breakdowns for Moana 2, Skeleton Crew, Mufasa: The Lion King, Agatha All Along, Mandalorian and Grogu, Daredevil: Born Again, Captain America: Brave New World, and Iron Heart.

Skeleton Crew Trailer

So, kicking it off, we got Star Wars! Disney starts off this part of the presentation with the first trailer for Skeleton Crew. Skeleton Crew is going to be the next Star Wars show, set to release December 3, 2024. Now, I think this trailer was awesome! I’m not going to get into it too much, because I plan to do a breakdown of the trailer. In a nutshell Skeleton Crew is the Goonies meets Star Wars. We start the trailer with what looks to be the first time we see a suburban area in Star Wars. We meet a group of kids that are craving an adventure.

They then find themselves on a ship that is then whisked away, far from home. We then end the trailer with our first look at Jude Law as Jedi, Jod Na Nawood. This project is being created by none other than, Jon Watts. If you don’t know who Jon Watts is, he was the former Spider-Man director for the MCU.

Andor Season 2

Andor': Tony Gilroy on creating the first 'Star Wars' rebellion - Los Angeles Times

Andor is a show that has been beloved by a lot of the Star Wars fandom. A lot of people might even say that this is the best thing Star Wars has released since the original trilogy. Diego Luna (Cassian Andor) then takes the stage to talk about Andor Season 2. We are then provided with some updates on the show. Andor Season 2 will take place over 4 years, and Ben Mendelson will officially return as Krennic. That’s not the only returning character. Forest Whitaker will return as Saw Gerrera. We didn’t get much of an update for the release date, but it will come out in 2025.

The Mandalorian and Grogu

Everything we know about 'The Mandalorian & Grogu' | Space

They then follow Andor with The Mandalorian and Grogu! Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau walk out on stage to present Star Wars’ next feature film. “We’re putting Star Wars back on the big screen”, says Filoni. They show D23 attendees some footage as they’ve just recently started development/filming. I won’t focus a whole lot on the trailer because I believe I might do a breakdown on that one as well. The trailer teases things like the return of the Razorcrest, as well as Zeb. Zeb was originally a character in the animated show, Star Wars: Rebels, and has just recently made his live action debut in The Mandalorian Season 3. They then end it off with a new logo, and with a release date of May 2026.

Captain America: Brave New World

Captain America: Brave New World Characters Leaked, Sam Wilson To Fight This Marvel Supervillain?

Moving on from Star Wars, we get the Marvel D23 (2024) part of the presentation. We kick things off with a new extended clip of Captain America: Brave New World. This is another project that I will do a small trailer breakdown on, so don’t expect much in this post. The clip starts off with President Ross (Harrison Ford) putting on a presentation in the White House. That’s when we get the confirmation that Adamantium is being introduced in the movie. This is also the first time that the dead celestial in the ocean has been brought up, as Adamantium was found there. Ross is willing to share this newfound resource with the world.

Another clip worth noting is when Sam Wilson (Captain America) meets with President Ross. This actually wasn’t what was said in the trailer, but Ross is wanting to bring back the Avengers. Ross approaches Sam to ask him to rebuild the Avengers. I would expect by the end of this movie to get a tease of Sam becoming the leader of the Avengers. The other big part of the trailer was our first look at Red Hulk! Ross is giving what seems like a public speech outside the White House, where he turns into the Red Hulk. I just got to say, he looks awesome! It’s been ages since we’ve gotten a mad Hulk, and we’ve finally got it!

Iron Heart

Ironheart Confirmed for 2025 as Trailer Shows Riri Taking Parts to Build Her Suit - IGN

After Captain America: Brave New World, attendees got to see a video sent from the cast of The Fantastic Four. It really wasn’t much; it was just them saying that they’re currently filming. The one thing is that we get our first look at the Fantastic Four suit, as we see Joseph Quin wearing it. Ryan Coogler then takes the stage, as he presents Iron Heart. Coogler is an executive producer on the show. The cast then follows, which features the likes of Dominque Thorne (Iron Heart) and Anthony Ramos (The Hood). This is a show that I’m also thinking about doing a breakdown on. The D23 exclusive trailer featured Riri Williams not doing the best in college, as she works on some of her Iron Heart suits. The show is practically going to feature technology V.S. magic.

Daredevil: Born Again

Daredevil: Born Again' D23 Teaser Shown, Season 2 In Works

Daredevil is next in the Marvel D23 (2024) presentation! The cast was brought out on stage and D23 attendees were given an exclusive trailer. Like many of the D23 exclusive trailers from this presentation, the trailer has leaked online. I believe there starting to get taken down, but I just thought I should put that out there. Yes, I was fortunate enough to see the trailer, and I thought it looked awesome! It was action packed and it featured some great looks at new characters. Daredevil: Born Again is going to introduce our first White Tiger in the MCU.

Jon Berthal is also reprising his role as The Punisher. What might be the biggest surprise is this. Kamala Kahn’s father will return in Daredevil: Born Again. I don’t know how it’s going to happen, let’s just hope Punisher doesn’t go anywhere near him. We also got our first look at Muse, the villain of the season, and he is scary! He’s just one of those villains that are pure evil.

The last detail I wanted to touch upon was the fact that Daredevil and Kingpin are seemingly going to team up to face a bigger threat. Now I don’t know if that threat is Muse, or if it ties into the larger Multiverse story, but that sure is going to be exciting to see. Don’t forget, Kingpin is also going to be running for mayor of New York. This will all be touched upon in my trailer breakdown for Daredevil: Born Again. Season 1 comes out next year, and season 2 has officially been greenlit and is in production.

Agatha All Along

Agatha All Along' Trailer Revealed At D23

The cast of Agatha All Along takes the stage, as they perform the series song, “Down the Witch’s Road.” They then debuted the official trailer at D23, later releasing it online. We get new looks at the cast, and more of the general story of the season. Agatha assembles a team of witches to walk the Witch’s Road, and it looks great! Agatha All Along is looking like it will be a great time. The Agatha All Along series is the next project in Marvel’s slate, with a release date of September 18, 2024. Stay tuned for my trailer breakdown, in the meantime, feel free to check out my analysis of the first Agatha All Along teaser.

Star Wars + Marvel D23 (2024) Panel Wrap Up
